The Ministry of Police is the principal organization in Samoa with mandated functions to act at all times to perform the following duties:

Maintain law and order;
Preserve peace;
Protect life and property;
Prevent, detect and investigate crime; and
Enforce the laws in Samoa and of any laws which vest functions, powers and responsibilities in the Service.

Our objectives are to:
Reduce crime through the Criminal Investigation Division and Prosecution;
Increase community safety and confidence through General Policing; Community Policing; Police Band; and the Traffic Unit;
and to ensure national security through the Maritime Unit; Special Response Unit; and Canine Unit.
