The Office of the Ombudsman has 3 functions:
a. Good Governance: promotes accountability, transparency and integrity in the administration and decision making of government ministries and state organisations.
b. Human Rights Institution: protects and promotes human rights.
c. Special Investigations Unit: investigates complaints against police, prisons and corrections officers or any disciplinary forces.
