" A visit to the Groot Marico would not be complete without visiting Buti's Cafe for "slap tjips". These are large hand-cut chips that aren't crispy at all but actually slightly soggy, sprinkled with salt and vinegar (the vinegar is optional) and wrapped in newspaper. The kids consider it nectar from heaven. Slap tjips for lunch, slap tjips for dinner and even slap tjips for (a very late, more like brunch) breakfast on one occasion. Buti's also sells chocolate that they keep fresh in a fridge, and firewood. The selection is small, geared to the town and surrounds but the slap tjips alone give Buti's an extra star. "
