Central Community College provides AE classes and GED testing under the supervision of the Nebraska Department of Education. Adult Education is supported at the local, state and national levels.
The program has these major components:
Adult Basic Education for people with less than eighth-grade skills.
English As a Second Language (ESL) for people who want to learn to speak, read and write English.
Citizenship classes - EL/Civics which is civics instruction for immigrants and U.S. citizens.
GED (General Educational Development) instruction for people who want to earn a Nebraska high school diploma.
AE includes classes with paid instructors and one-on-one tutoring by volunteers when available.
